Stout Dreams...Yummy....

Recently I read an article called In Lean Times, Stout Dream written by David Kesmodel that appeared in the Wall Street Journal. The article highlights that in these current bad times there seems to be a great interest in people brewing their own beer and showcasing it to the world. Now, myself being a beer connoisseur the article called out to me. Beer is traditionally the drink of the people, and people cling to their beers in good times and in bad, developing an affinity for certain brands. Craft beers promise the consumer a quality beer that can in most cases make the big breweries shake in their boots, while at the same time supporting local brewers and ingesting a superior product with unique ingredients. Furthermore, in most cases craft beers are limited in quantity and production so this makes them unique.

The idea of drinking a superior beverage like a Anchor Steam Liberty Ale, Sierra Nevada Summer fest, and a Shiner Hefe-weizen brings joy to my taste buds. Americans have gotten use to drinking crap beer and accepted that fate, but I refuse to go down without a fight. Beer drinking or the drinking of craft beers is the wave of the future, in the same way Americans embrace wine, we too will embrace beer as a recreational past time. All types of beers can be match to food, atmosphere, and particular taste just like wine. So, bars need to create beer tasting in order to ignite this movement. So here is a video that chronicles the article and brings light to this art of brewing.
